The Takaful Rendezvous 2011 Success

The Takaful Rendezvous 2011 has been successfully held on the 6th and 7th of October 2011 in Kuala Lumpur.  The two day event started with a one day conference at Istana Hotel .  The conference commenced with the Opening Ceremony by Assistant Governor En. Bakarudin Ishak,Bank Negara Malaysia.

More than 300 participants took part in the conference which includes professional from the industry, lawyers, academician and public.  The conference has been divided into four sessions.  Those sessions are; Takaful Industry: Future Direction and Expansion, Global Retakaful Progress - New Updates and Enhancement, Managing in a Challenging Investment Climate: New Asset Management Approaches for Takaful Operators and Business Best Practices: Regulatory, Accounting Treatment and Governance in Takaful and Retakaful industry.

Among the speakers at the conference were, Sheikh Nizam Yaquby, Shariah Advisor, Bahrain, Mr. Richard Thomas, Director of Gatehouse Napier Ltd, UK. , Sheikh Essam, Shariah Scholar, Bahrain, Mr Dawood Taylor of Prudential, Saudi Arabia, Mr A Rushdi Siddiqui of Thomson Reuters USA, Dr Engku Rabiah Adawiah of Shariah Advisory Council, Bank Negara Malaysia and many others.

On the second day, visit to three Takaful operators were organized.  Places visited were AIA FG Takaful; Great Eastern Takaful and MNRB Retakaful. In the afternoon the group also visited Bank Negara Malaysia Muzium.
